Tax Accountant in Warrington

Tax Accountant – C£45,000 – Warrington – 3 to 6 month contract

Bayman Atkinson Smythe are recruiting a Tax Accountant for a leading UK organisation.

You don't need to be a tax specialist! We're equally interested in candidates with tax experience or those with a strong financial accounting background, some tax knowledge and a desire to develop their expertise.

Reporting to the Head of Tax, this is a varied role offering exposure to a broad range of taxes, compliance, controls and process improvement, with training and development opportunities.

The Role

• Prepare and submit VAT returns and support wider tax compliance.
• Assist with corporation tax, duties, CIS and other tax obligations.
• Review financial data, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Strengthen tax processes, reporting and internal controls.
• Provide tax guidance and support across the business.
• Support the Head of Tax with projects and continuous improvement.

The Person

We are looking for a qualified or part-qualified accountant or tax professional who offers either:

• Tax experience and an interest in broadening their technical knowledge.
• Strong financial accounting experience, with some exposure to tax and a desire to develop in this area.

You will also have:

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Good Excel skills and an understanding of financial controls.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive approach and willingness to learn.
