Teacher of Health and Social Care 

One of our colleges is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of Health & Social Care to join our teaching team on a temporary basis.

The successful candidate will teach across Level 2 and Level 3 Health & Social Care programmes, with some delivery of T Level content. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or an industry professional with teaching experience to make a real difference to our students.

You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, inclusive and high-quality lessons, supporting students to achieve their qualifications and preparing them for progression into further study, employment or careers within the health and social care sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Health & Social Care lessons across Level 2 and Level 3 programmes.
  • Contribute to the delivery of T Level Health & Social Care content where required.
  • Develop engaging learning activities that meet the needs of a diverse range of learners.
  • Assess student work and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Monitor student progress and provide appropriate academic and pastoral support.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessment and student progress.
  • Contribute to course planning, development and quality improvement.
  • Promote high standards of behaviour, attendance and achievement.
  • Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, equality and inclusion requirements are consistently met.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide an excellent student experience.

About You

We are looking for a passionate and motivated Health & Social Care teacher who can engage and inspire students across a range of levels.

You will ideally have:

  • Relevant qualifications and/or significant professional experience within Health & Social Care.
  • Experience of teaching or training learners at Level 2 and Level 3.
  • Knowledge of the Health & Social Care curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Experience or knowledge of T Levels would be desirable.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • The ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons.
  • A commitment to supporting students to achieve their full potential.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a supportive and collaborative team.

A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed or QTLS would be advantageous, although relevant experience will be considered.
