We are delighted to be working with a specialist education setting in Twickenham to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Maths Specialist Teacher on a permanent basis, with an immediate start available.

Your Role
As a Maths Specialist Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, purposeful and appropriately challenging Maths lessons, ensuring learning is accessible to pupils with a range of additional needs.
You will work closely with colleagues to develop pupils' mathematical understanding, confidence and independence, adapting the curriculum and teaching approaches to reflect individual abilities, needs and starting points.
The successful candidate will be passionate about Maths and committed to delivering high-quality teaching that supports both academic progress and the development of wider life skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging Maths lessons that meet individual pupil needs and abilities.
- Develop pupils' mathematical knowledge, understanding, fluency and problem-solving skills.
- Differentiate and adapt teaching, resources and activities to ensure all pupils can access the curriculum.
- Set high but realistic expectations for pupil achievement, behaviour and personal development.
- Use creative and practical approaches to make Maths meaningful and accessible.
- Assess pupils' progress accurately and use assessment information to inform future planning.
- Identify barriers to learning and implement appropriate strategies to support individual pupils.
- Ensure learning reflects pupils' EHCP outcomes and individual targets where appropriate.
- Support pupils to apply mathematical skills in real-life and functional contexts, including money, time, measurement and budgeting.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and support staff to ensure consistent approaches to learning.
- Establish positive relationships with pupils and create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Promote pupils' confidence, independence, communication and engagement alongside academic development.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of Maths provision across the setting.
- Monitor, record and report on pupil progress and contribute to reviews and meetings.
- Work effectively with colleagues, families and other professionals to support pupils' development.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, professional conduct and pupil welfare.
About You
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and committed Maths Teacher with QTS and strong subject knowledge, together with a genuine commitment to inclusive and personalised education.
Experience within a specialist SEN school, alternative provision or other specialist setting would be highly desirable. Applications are also welcomed from teachers with a mainstream background who can demonstrate strong differentiation skills and a willingness to support pupils with additional needs.
