A welcoming primary school in the Chester area is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join its Key Stage 2 team from November 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who enjoys being part of a close-knit school community and takes pride in helping children develop academically, socially and personally.
The school has a strong focus on creating a calm, purposeful and inclusive environment where pupils feel supported, encouraged and able to achieve their potential. You will work alongside experienced teaching staff to provide effective classroom support and help ensure pupils get the most from their learning.
About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide classroom and learning support across Key Stage 2
- Work alongside the class teacher to help pupils access the curriculum
- Support individual pupils and small groups where appropriate
- Help deliver targeted activities to reinforce learning
- Encourage positive behaviour, independence and confidence
- Build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Contribute to a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment
- Assist with the wider day-to-day running of the classroom

- Have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or within a primary school
- Have a genuine interest in supporting children's education and development
- Be confident supporting pupils across KS2
- Have a patient, encouraging and positive approach
- Be able to adapt their support to different learning needs
- Communicate effectively with teachers, pupils and colleagues
- Be reliable, organised and able to work well as part of a team
- Have a strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or previous school-based experience would be advantageous, although the school will consider candidates with the right experience and attitude.
This could be particularly well suited to a person looking for a term time education and training role in Chester, or someone seeking a new opportunity within Key Stage 2.
