Destination Education is currently recruiting enthusiastic, caring and committed Teaching Assistants to work across a range of mainstream and SEN schools in Maldon and the surrounding areas.
Whether you are an experienced Teaching Assistant, an aspiring teacher, a recent graduate, or someone with a passion for supporting children and young people, we would love to hear from you.
The RoleAs a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with their learning, development and wellbeing. Depending on the school and your experience, you may work alongside the class teacher in a mainstream setting or provide more tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Responsibilities may include:
- Supporting pupils with their academic and social development
- Working 1:1 or with small groups of pupils
- Assisting the class teacher with learning activities
- Providing additional support to pupils with SEN
- Helping to create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment
- Supporting pupils with their confidence, communication and independence
- Managing behaviour positively and consistently
- Building strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers
- Passionate about working with children and young people
- Patient, caring and approachable
- Reliable, enthusiastic and adaptable
- Confident working as part of a team
- Able to build positive relationships with pupils
- Interested in supporting children with additional needs
- Experienced in education, childcare, youth work or support work (desirable, but not essential)
