EmpowerED is recruiting for a Teaching Assistant in Walton-on-Thames to join a specialist school supporting children and young people with autism and communication and interaction needs.

This Teaching Assistant role in Walton-on-Thames is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Psychology Graduate or someone with relevant experience supporting children and young people with additional needs.

Teaching Assistant – The Role

As a Teaching Assistant in Walton-on-Thames, you will work closely with teachers and the wider specialist team to provide individualised support to pupils with autism and associated SEND.

The Teaching Assistant will support pupils both 1:1 and in small groups, helping them to access learning, develop communication and social skills, regulate emotions and build greater independence.

This specialist school in Walton-on-Thames offers a structured, nurturing environment where relationships, communication and understanding each individual pupil are central to the approach.

What we're looking for

For this Teaching Assistant role in Walton-on-Thames, we're looking for someone who is calm, patient, proactive and genuinely passionate about working with children and young people with SEND.

Experience as a Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker or Support Worker would be particularly relevant.

Experience supporting autism/ASC, communication needs, emotional regulation, SEND or SEMH would also be beneficial.

Psychology graduates looking to gain practical experience within specialist education are strongly encouraged to apply for this Teaching Assistant position in Walton-on-Thames.

This is a full-time Teaching Assistant role in Walton-on-Thames, working Monday to Friday during term time.
