Teaching Assistant (Year 1) – Full Time

Are you a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in children's lives?

We are seeking a committed Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive primary school in Salford from September 2026. This is a full-time role for the academic year, providing classroom support and working closely with pupils, including children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

The Role

As a Year 1 Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive learning activities.
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to help them reach their full potential.
  • Provide targeted support for children with SEN, adapting activities to meet their needs.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and help create a nurturing learning environment.
  • Assist with classroom organisation, preparation of resources and daily routines.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
  • Have experience working with primary-aged children.
  • Be patient, caring and able to build positive relationships with young learners.
  • Have experience supporting children with SEN, including autism, ADHD or speech and language needs (desirable).
  • Be flexible, proactive and willing to work as part of a team.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience (desirable).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
