Teaching Assistant - Secondary School | Tonbridge

A welcoming secondary school in Tonbridge is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) from September. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience while making a genuine difference to young people's education.

This role would particularly suit graduates in English, Maths, Science, Psychology, Sociology, Criminology or other core subject and social science disciplines who are passionate about supporting students to reach their potential.

The role:

  • Supporting students with a range of SEN on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Working closely with teachers to deliver engaging lessons
  • Encouraging student confidence, independence and academic progress
  • Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in a core subject or social science (or relevant experience)
  • A genuine interest in supporting young people with additional needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, resilience and a proactive attitude
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
