Teaching Assistant

Location: Newham, East London
Salary: £1,800 - £2,200 per month
Start Date: Immediate / September
Contract: Full-time

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Newham is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils across the classroom, helping them engage with learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and support staff to ensure pupils receive the guidance and encouragement they need to thrive.

The role would suit candidates with previous school-based experience, graduates looking to gain valuable experience in education, or individuals passionate about supporting children's learning and development.

The school is a well-regarded primary setting with a strong community ethos and supportive leadership team. Staff work collaboratively to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment where all pupils are encouraged to succeed.

• Support teaching and learning across the classroom

• Work with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups

• Assist with lesson preparation and classroom activities

• Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development

• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning

• Work closely with teachers and support staff to meet pupil needs

Essential:

• GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or above)

• Experience working with children in a school, childcare, or similar setting

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Desirable:

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant

• Knowledge of SEN and intervention support

• Degree in Education, Psychology, or a related subject
