Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, are seeking an Engineering Team Leader to join their Technical Services team at Westfield Stratford City, one of Europe’s largest shopping centres. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering professional to take responsibility for coordinating maintenance activities, supporting operational performance, and overseeing a team of engineers on shift.

Job Description

We are looking for a proactive leader with a strong facilities management background who can manage planned and reactive maintenance activities, delegate workloads effectively, and help maintain high standards of safety, compliance, and service delivery across the site. The role offers ongoing training and development opportunities, including progression into future management positions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of electrical, mechanical and fabric engineers during shift operations.
  • Allocate work tickets and planned maintenance tasks to the engineering team.
  • Monitor performance and ensure quality standards are consistently achieved.
  • Support the completion of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate contractors and vendors to ensure maintenance and project work is completed safely and effectively.
  • Maintain operational and maintenance documentation, procedures and site records.
  • Assist with resolving operational issues while minimising disruption and maintaining service standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

  • Experience within facilities management, including planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
  • Previous experience overseeing or coordinating a small engineering team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions within operational procedures.
  • Ability to delegate workloads and manage priorities effectively.
  • Electrical qualifications such as 18th Edition and relevant City & Guilds/NVQ qualifications, or mechanical qualifications including Gas or Air Conditioning.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
