Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Technical Officer to join their Waste & Recycling team. This exciting role is perfect for someone who thrives on variety and enjoys making a difference in waste management and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Support:
- Provide vital administrative assistance to the Waste Collections team.
- Maintain accurate records and databases, ensuring performance information is up to date.
- Produce insightful reports on waste collections and service performance.
- Raise purchase orders and process invoices efficiently.
- Organise and maintain electronic filing systems with precision.
Customer Service:
- Serve as a key point of contact for residents and customers, handling inquiries and complaints with professionalism.
- Investigate issues and collaborate with operational teams to ensure smooth resolutions.
- Manage requests for recycling bags and bulky waste services, providing quotations and processing payments.
Operational Support:
- Assist Waste Collection Team Leaders and operational managers with monitoring collection data and identifying service issues.
- Support planning and allocation of work as needed, including site visits to assess waste needs.
Service Improvement:
- Contribute to projects aimed at enhancing waste and recycling services.
- Review processes to boost efficiency and monitor customer feedback for continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For:
Knowledge & Experience:
- Previous experience in an administrative or support role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and database management.
- Understanding of customer service principles and ideally, experience within a local authority or public sector environment.
- Knowledge of waste management or recycling services is a plus.
Skills:
- Exceptional organisational abilities and strong communication skills.
- Competence in handling customer inquiries and producing detailed reports.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Personal Qualities:
- A team player with a flexible approach and a positive, customer-focused attitude.
- Professional, reliable, and capable of working independently.
Qualifications:
- Good general education, including English, Maths, and IT.
- Relevant administrative or business support qualifications are desirable but not essential.
