Technical Project Manager
Dublin - On-site - Permanent
Our client is a leading global trading and technology firm, growing its Dublin office. They are looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead complex, business-critical projects and help shape how delivery is governed across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the delivery of large-scale technology and infrastructure initiatives, from initial scoping right through to launch and post-implementation review.
- Act as the link between developers, operations and business users, keeping internationally distributed teams aligned on goals and timelines.
- Put together detailed delivery plans with clear deliverables, accountability, interdependencies and a well-managed risk log.
- Keep work moving by tackling obstacles head-on and raising issues with the right people at the right time.
- Work with stakeholders to capture requirements, document functional specs and plan the roadmap, then oversee UAT and release.
- Produce regular progress reporting tailored to engineers, end users and the executive team.
- Drive continuous improvement in delivery governance, prioritisation and reporting standards.
What We are Looking For
- A strong track record of running large technology or infrastructure programmes where the pace is quick, and the stakes are high.
- The technical understanding to hold your own with engineers and developers, and to earn their trust.
- Experience bringing several delivery teams together, ideally spread across different countries.
- End-to-end delivery experience, with a disciplined approach to managing risks, issues and competing priorities.
- Confidence communicating with and influencing people at every level, up to executive and board level.
- Hands-on use of Agile and hybrid methods, and tools such as Jira, Confluence or MS Project.
- A background in building or improving PMO frameworks, reporting and delivery standards, or in managing a small team of PMs.
- Solid BA capability, from running requirements workshops and writing functional specs to supporting UAT and release. Knowledge of SQL would be useful.
Experience in trading, capital markets or financial services, exposure to regulatory change (e.g. MiFID II, DORA), or a PM qualification such as PMP or PRINCE2 would be an advantage.
