An established and growing engineering business specialising in safety and access solutions is looking to recruit a Technical Sales Engineer to join its team in Manchester.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technical sales professional who enjoys building customer relationships, managing projects from enquiry through to completion, and working within the construction or industrial sectors.

Previous experience in fall protection is not essential.

The successful candidate will receive full product and industry training. We're looking for someone with strong technical sales ability and the confidence to manage a consultative sales process. The products can be taught – your ability to build relationships, identify opportunities and deliver commercially sound solutions is what matters most.

The Role

  • Develop and manage relationships with contractors, end users and key stakeholders.
  • Generate new business opportunities while growing existing accounts.
  • Visit customer sites to understand project requirements.
  • Prepare quotations and technical proposals.
  • Manage the sales process from initial enquiry through to order.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline using a CRM system.

About You

  • Experience in technical, engineering or specification sales.
  • Strong commercial awareness and excellent relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable managing longer sales cycles and multiple projects.
  • Able to communicate technical solutions clearly and confidently.
  • Full UK driving licence.
