Technical Sales Engineer

Up to £40,000

Doncaster

Are you a hydraulics professional who enjoys solving problems, working with customers and finding the right technical solution?

If you're looking for a role where your hydraulic knowledge is genuinely valued - and where no two customer requirements are the same - this could be an excellent opportunity to develop your career.

We're looking for a Hydraulic Technical Sales Engineer to join a technically driven team, supporting customers and the external sales team with everything from individual hydraulic components to complete system solutions.

What will you be doing?

This is a varied role combining technical knowledge, customer support and commercial awareness.

You'll become a key point of contact for customers, understanding their requirements and using your hydraulic expertise to recommend the right products and solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing technical sales support to customers and the external sales team
  • Understanding customer requirements and recommending suitable hydraulic solutions
  • Preparing accurate quotations and managing enquiries through to order
  • Advising customers on hydraulic components and product selection
  • Working on projects ranging from individual components to larger hydraulic system applications
  • Building strong, long-term customer relationships
  • Providing technical and after-sales support
  • Working closely with engineering, sales and operations teams to deliver the right solutions

The variety is a major part of the appeal. One day you could be helping a customer select a specific hydraulic component; the next, you could be working through the requirements of a much larger hydraulic application.

What are we looking for?

You don't need to be a traditional salesperson.

We're looking for someone with genuine hydraulic knowledge who enjoys dealing with customers and has the ability to turn technical requirements into practical solutions.

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience within the hydraulics industry
  • Good knowledge of hydraulic components and systems
  • A Mechanical Engineering qualification such as HNC, HND or equivalent (preferred)
  • The ability to understand technical information and apply it practically
  • Strong communication and customer relationship skills
  • Good organisation and the ability to manage multiple enquiries and priorities
  • A proactive, positive and professional approach
  • The confidence to work independently while contributing to a wider team
  • A genuine desire to learn, develop and build your technical and commercial skills

What's in it for you?

You'll receive:

  • Competitive salary
  • Ongoing training and professional development
  • Company pension scheme
  • 21 days annual leave + bank holidays
  • Additional holiday entitlement for each year of service - up to 5 extra days
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Semi-flexible working hours to make commuting easier
  • The opportunity to work with industry-leading hydraulic products, customers and technologies
