Temporary Accommodation Officer

We are currently looking for an experienced Temporary Accommodation Officer to manage a portfolio of properties used to accommodate homeless households.
The role will cover the full management of temporary accommodation, including voids, lettings, tenancy management, rent arrears, repairs and landlord liaison, alongside ensuring properties remain compliant and accommodation providers meet their contractual responsibilities.

The Role
·Manage a portfolio of properties used as temporary accommodation for homeless households.
·Manage voids, lettings, tenancy matters, rent arrears and repairs across the portfolio.
·Monitor temporary accommodation placements and ensure properties are occupied by authorised households.
·Manage vacation and repossession of accommodation following the discharge of homelessness duties.
·Carry out property visits and ensure temporary accommodation meets required Health & Safety standards.
·Manage relationships with landlords and accommodation providers.
·Contract manage providers of temporary accommodation, including PLA and HAL arrangements.
·Monitor contractual compliance and ensure accommodation invoices are processed efficiently.
·Work with Housing Solutions teams to coordinate services for statutorily homeless households.
·Provide advice and support to temporary accommodation residents and make referrals to external agencies where required.
·Support and lead work relating to the Housing Association Leasing Scheme and other temporary accommodation projects.

Key Requirements
·Previous experience working within Temporary Accommodation or Housing Management.
·Experience managing temporary accommodation properties and homeless households.
·Experience across voids, lettings, tenancy management, rent arrears and repairs.
·Knowledge of homelessness legislation and the discharge of statutory housing duties.
·Experience carrying out property visits and monitoring Health & Safety compliance.
·Experience managing landlords and temporary accommodation providers.
·Experience of leasing arrangements such as PLA and HAL schemes.
·Experience monitoring contracts, supplier performance and accommodation invoices.
