We are currently recruiting for a School Caretaker to join a welcoming school in Sunderland on a full-time basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and reliable caretaker looking for a long-term temporary position, with the potential to secure a permanent role.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the school premises are safe, secure, clean, and well-maintained for pupils, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Opening and securing the school site
• Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs
• Ensuring the school grounds and buildings are well maintained
• Conducting routine health and safety checks
• Monitoring and reporting maintenance issues
• Supporting contractors working on site
• Assisting with room setups and school events when required
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and safeguarding procedures

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Previous experience in a caretaker, site assistant, facilities, or maintenance role
• Good practical DIY and maintenance skills
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures
• A proactive and hands-on approach to work
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Previous experience within a school environment is desirable but not essential

Essential Requirements
Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
Ability to start immediately
Right to work in the UK
