Terminal Services Controller

DFDS

Do you want to be a valued part of the critical infrastructure that serves communities across Europe and beyond? Are you looking for a position in which you can set direction and help shape our company? If so, then you could be the newest addition to our team as a Terminal Services Controller.

Be part of the movement - and play your part.

About the role

This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient control of goods, stock, contractors and site compliance activities, supporting the safe and effective day-to-day operation of the business. Acting as a key point of contact for deliveries, contractors and visitors, the position ensures that all materials, equipment and personnel entering site are correctly managed, documented and compliant with company procedures, while maintaining accurate records and supporting permit-to-work and contractor management processes.

You will be responsible for

  • Receive, inspect and processing incoming deliveries, verifying goods against purchase orders and delivery documentation, while recording stock accurately within the inventory management system.

  • Maintaining effective stock control by monitoring inventory levels, coordinating replenishment requirements, and managing the ordering, storage and distribution of PPE, janitorial supplies and controlled equipment.

  • Administering contractor and visitor access procedures, ensuring all site entry requirements are met, records are maintained accurately, and security protocols are followed at all times.

  • Supporting permit-to-work and contractor compliance processes by maintaining records relating to RAMS, permits, inductions, insurance documentation and contractor approvals.

  • Monitoring and reporting discrepancies, damaged goods, stock issues and document expiries, liaising with Purchasing Controllers, Permit Coordinators and other stakeholders to ensure timely resolution and continued compliance.

About you

You will be an organised and proactive individual with strong administrative and organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities within a busy operational environment. Confident using Microsoft Office applications, you will be comfortable working independently, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance processes are followed. Experience dealing with contractors, visitors, stock control or compliance administration would be advantageous, although a positive attitude and willingness to learn are equally important.

As the first point of contact for contractors and visitors, you will be confident interacting with people face-to-face and take pride in delivering a professional, friendly and welcoming experience. With strong communication and interpersonal skills, you will be able to build effective relationships at all levels, support site security and access requirements, and act as a positive ambassador for DFDS. Most importantly, you will be a reliable and customer-focused team member who takes ownership of responsibilities and contributes to the safe, secure and efficient operation of the site.

We think the strongest teams are built on diversity and inclusivity. Contrasting opinions, varied skills and strong characters bring out the best in us all. And we cannot wait for you to join.
