Tool Maker

Up to £47,000 per annum + Enhanced Pension + Private Medical Care

We are looking for an experienced Press & Mould Tool Maker to join our established manufacturing business in East Sussex.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and practical toolmaker who takes pride in producing high-quality tooling and enjoys working on varied and technically challenging projects.

You will play a key role in the manufacture, maintenance, repair and modification of press tools, moulds and associated tooling, working to high standards of accuracy and quality.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Manufacturing, assembling and modifying press tools, moulds and associated tooling.
• Carrying out repairs, maintenance and improvements to existing tooling.
• Working from detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
• Machining, fitting, grinding, milling, turning and drilling components to tight tolerances.
• Setting and operating conventional and CNC machine tools.
• Inspecting components using precision measuring equipment.
• Diagnosing tooling problems and implementing effective solutions.
• Working closely with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime.
• Ensuring tooling is manufactured and maintained to the required quality standards.
• Maintaining a safe, clean and well-organised workshop.

We are looking for an experienced Tool Maker, Press Tool Maker, Mould Tool Maker or similar skilled engineering professional.

You will ideally have:

• Proven experience in a toolmaking or precision engineering environment.
• Strong practical experience with press and/or mould tooling.
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience machining and fitting components to close tolerances.
• Good knowledge of conventional machining techniques.
• Experience with CNC machinery would be advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
• A professional, reliable and hands-on approach.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team.

Experience with injection mould tooling, press tooling, surface grinding, wire/EDM or CNC machining would be advantageous.
