JRS Associates Ltd has partnered with a leading engineering manufacturer to recruit a Trainee CNC Machinist to join their growing team.

The successful candidate will be trained to set and operate CNC milling machines, working alongside experienced engineers within a modern manufacturing environment.

The Successful Trainee CNC Machinist will benefit from:

  • Starting salary of £12.71 per hour
  • Increase to £14.00 per hour after 6 months, subject to successful training and development
  • 4 on / 4 off day shift

The Trainee CNC Machinist will be responsible for:

  • Learning to set and operate CNC milling machines
  • Loading and unloading components
  • Learning how to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Carrying out basic quality checks
  • Using measuring equipment
  • Learning tooling and machine offsets
  • Working alongside experienced CNC machinists
  • Maintaining high standards of quality and safety
  • Developing machining knowledge through structured training

The ideal Trainee CNC Machinist will have:

  • A genuine interest in engineering and manufacturing
  • A strong willingness to learn and develop
  • Good attention to detail
  • A reliable and positive attitude
  • An interest in machinery and mechanical engineering
  • Previous engineering, manufacturing, machine operating or college-based engineering experience would be advantageous but is not essential
  • The ability to work a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern

Please note: The 4 on / 4 off shift runs continuously, meaning weekend working will be required when Saturdays and Sundays fall within the candidate’s four working days.
