Trainee Estimator in Ferndown, Dorset

This Trainee Estimator role offers a great opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, supporting contractors across the UK. The Trainee Estimator role combines technical understanding, commercial awareness and problem-solving, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working with detail and seeing projects develop from enquiry through to order.

The Role

• You'll be trained on reviewing drawings and specifications, producing accurate quotations and supporting clients throughout the tender process.
• Working closely with sales, production and project teams, you'll play a key role in ensuring projects are commercially viable and delivered to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing quotations from construction drawings and specifications
• Reviewing tender documentation
• Calculating material, labour and installation costs
• Liaising with clients, contractors and suppliers
• Supporting the commercial team during tender submissions
• Managing multiple enquiries and deadlines
• Maintaining accurate records and project information
• Assisting with project handovers following successful tenders

About You

• An understanding of the estimating processes
• Has good numerical and analytical skills
• Works accurately under pressure and to deadlines
• Is organised and self-motivated
• Communicates clearly with colleagues, suppliers and customers
• Is proficient with Microsoft Office applications
