Want to develop a career in surveying but looking for a company that will invest in your training?
We’re looking for an enthusiastic Trainee Land Surveyor to join a busy construction team in the Peterhead area. This is an ideal opportunity for someone at the beginning of their career, whether you’re a recent graduate, have some construction experience or have up to 12 months’ surveying experience.
You’ll receive practical training and guidance from experienced surveyors while gaining hands-on experience across live construction projects.
Your training will include
- Assisting with setting out and surveying on construction sites
- Learning how to use GPS, Total Stations and laser levels
- Taking accurate measurements and recording site data
- Setting out foundations, drainage, structures and other works
- Working with engineering drawings, coordinates and site plans
- Supporting senior surveyors with daily site activities
- Carrying out checks and assisting with as-built surveys
- Developing your understanding of construction surveying and site procedures
What we’re looking for
This role is all about potential, so previous surveying experience isn’t essential. We’re interested in people who are keen to learn and build a long-term career.
You’ll ideally have:
- An interest in land surveying, construction or civil engineering
- A methodical approach and strong attention to detail
- Good numeracy and problem-solving skills
- A willingness to learn and develop new technical skills
- The ability to work outdoors and on active construction sites
- Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude
- Up to 12 months’ relevant experience is welcomed but not required
- A full UK driving licence, or be close to obtaining one
