We are looking for a dedicated Trainee Service Technician to work Wednesday to Sunday, covering our customers in Swansea and South Wales (could also involve travel to South/West England).

The Role

As a Trainee Service Technician, you will ensure an effective and timely delivery and maintenance service to our customers. Medstrom vans are shared amongst the Technicians. After training, this will include the delivery and set up of products for patients, within agreed delivery times, repair and proactive maintenance of products and support at the delivery stage to customers in various clinical environments. This role follows our Career Pathway, with clearly defined training, experience, and knowledge to enable you to progress your career with Medstrom.

Main responsibilities of the role:

- Deliver clean, ready-to-use products to and around customer sites (vans are shared between the technicians)
- Collect products after use and return to the service location for decontamination
- Disinfect, function check, repair and electrical-safety test products
- Complete records of testing, delivery and collection
- Maintain available product stock and spare parts inventory
- Complete product modifications when required
- Provide product demonstrations and basic training to staff
- Maintain a clean and tidy work environment

Hours of work: 37.5 per week, working Wednesday to Sunday.

You will also be required to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota (once trained) to support the team and the customers, which covers weekends. This is subject to additional on-call payments.

About You

To join us as a Trainee Service Technician, ideally, you will need to have or be willing to develop the following.

Qualifications and experience requirements:

- Mechanical or electrical background desirable, but not essential as full training will be provided
- Experience of delivery driving and planning routes would be desirable
- Full UK driving licence required (we use long wheelbase vans, but training and support to build confidence will be provided where required)

Personal Requirements:

- A proactive, ‘can-do’ attitude
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work under own initiative, and follow procedures to achieve deadlines
- Basic PC skills to include email and MS Office
- Willingness to have a DBS completed

Please note, this role will involve manual handling - lifting, carrying and loading Medstrom products into the van.
