Transport Manager

We're pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our client - one of the fastest growing commercial wholesalers in Europe, in their search for an experienced Transport Manager to oversee and optimise their busy logistics operation. This is a hands on role where you’ll take ownership of compliance, fleet performance, driver management and day‑to‑day transport efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily transport operations, ensuring efficient routing, scheduling and delivery performance

• Lead, support and develop drivers and transport staff

• Maintain full compliance with all transport legislation, including tachographs, Working Time Directive and vehicle safety

• Oversee fleet maintenance, inspections and defect reporting

• Monitor KPIs such as delivery performance, cost control and utilisation

• Ensure accurate record‑keeping for audits and regulatory checks

• Liaise with internal teams, suppliers and customers to resolve transport related issues

• Drive continuous improvement across transport processes and standards

Legal & Compliance Requirements

• Valid Transport Manager CPC qualification (essential)

• Strong knowledge of Operator Licence obligations

• Understanding of DVSA regulations, vehicle roadworthiness and driver hours

• Experience managing compliance systems such as tachograph analysis and maintenance schedules
