Cherry Professional have partnered with a business who are seeking an organised and proactive Transport Planner to join a busy logistics operation. Responsible for planning and coordinating daily vehicle movements, you will ensure deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively while maintaining excellent customer service levels.

You'll work closely with drivers, warehouse teams, and external haulage providers, adapting quickly to changing customer requirements, breakdowns, and operational challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and schedule daily vehicle routes and loads.
  • Monitor transport operations and respond to changes in real time.
  • Liaise with drivers, warehouse teams, customers, and external hauliers.
  • Arrange and coordinate third-party transport when required.
  • Manage POD documentation and carry out audit-standard checks.
  • Maintain accurate transport records and administration.
  • Validate transport costs and follow internal purchasing procedures.
  • Ensure customer delivery requirements are consistently met.
About You:
  • Previous experience in a Transport Planner, Logistics Coordinator, or similar role.
  • Strong route planning and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines.
  • Commercially aware with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good administrative and IT skills.
  • Full understanding of the Working Time Directive (WTD).
  • Flexible, customer-focused, and committed to safe working practices.
