Transport Planner – PERMANENT – Southampton - £35,000 to £38.000 per annum

Job Title: Transport Planner

Location: Southampton, Hampshire

Salary: £35,000 to £38.000 per annum – depending on Experience.

Bonuses: £6.600 per year extra for on call bonus

Job Type: Fulltime permanent. (Shift pattern can be negotiated)

Hours: 0600am – 1800pm Rotational shifts / Weekend work 1 in 4 Saturday/Sunday ,ornings (additional payment provided)

Transport Planner - Requirements

• MUST have experience with Transport Planner role
• Proven experience in container haulage planning
• Proficient IT skills - experience using TOPS is a strong advantage.
• Route planning experience
• Use of computerised TMS plus other bolt-on variables to enable the management of other parts of our clients operation
• Ability to lead and mentor other planners with the team
• Proficient ability in using industry standard IT
• Flexibility to participate in on-call duties
• Strong team player with good communication -Ability to work under pressure
• A good Understanding of the local geographical area would be advantageous
• Experience in Planning / Routing and managing a fleet of vehicles.
• Can multi-Task and prioritise duties.

Transport Planner – Responsibilities

• Plan and allocate daily container haulage work across the company fleet.
• Managing the in-house systems and databases
• Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and subcontractors.
• Managing and maintaining office files
• Ensuring high levels of customer service with their clients and ensuring a high level of performance is always maintained.
• Ensure that all jobs are documented correctly.
• Planning the workload daily for the site.
• Ensuring adherence to corporate policies as well as legal requirements for vehicle operations, health & safety, and other regulations.
• Routes must be planned in line with WTD
• Liaising with drivers and customers as appropriate
• Utilising drivers and vehicles for deliveries and pickups in an efficient manner
