Transport Team Manager

Location: Berkshire
Salary: Up to £48,000 per annum

We're recruiting for a Transport Team Manager to join a successful and well-established foodservice wholesaler and distributor based in Berkshire.

This is a hands-on management role for an experienced transport professional who enjoys leading people, maintaining high standards and ensuring a busy delivery operation runs safely and efficiently.

You'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of the transport team, working closely with drivers, planners, warehouse colleagues and management to deliver excellent service.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading, motivating and supporting a team of drivers.

• Managing daily transport operations and resolving issues quickly.

• Monitoring driver performance, attendance, productivity and service levels.

• Ensuring compliance with transport legislation, health and safety and company procedures.

• Supporting route planning and efficient delivery operations.

• Coaching and developing team members.

• Monitoring transport KPIs and driving improvements where required.

• Working closely with other departments to maintain a smooth operation.

We're looking for a confident and organised transport professional with strong people-management skills.

You'll ideally have:

• Previous experience in transport, logistics, FMCG, wholesale or distribution.

• Experience managing or supervising drivers.

• Good knowledge of transport compliance and operational procedures.

• Strong communication, coaching and problem-solving skills.

• The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• A proactive, hands-on approach.
