Turnaround Manager (Brain Injury & Stroke Services)

Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 DOE
Hours: 35 hours per week
Contract: Permanent or 18-Month Fixed-Term

Lead Meaningful Change in Specialist Neurorehabilitation

Brainkind is seeking an experienced and values-led Turnaround Manager to lead the recovery and transformation of a complex ABI and Stroke service currently rated Inadequate by the CQC.

This is a high-profile leadership opportunity with a clear objective: deliver sustainable service improvement, strengthen governance and culture, and achieve a GOOD CQC rating within 12 months. Working closely with operational and clinical leaders, you'll drive quality, performance, compliance and workforce engagement while improving outcomes for people with brain injuries and neurodegenerative conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver a comprehensive turnaround and improvement programme.
  • Drive cultural change, workforce stability and leadership accountability.
  • Strengthen clinical governance, quality assurance and risk management.
  • Improve CQC compliance and oversee inspection readiness.
  • Develop effective, person-centred neurorehabilitation pathways.
  • Optimise staffing, resources and financial performance.
  • Build confidence with regulators, commissioners, NHS partners and families.
  • Monitor progress through data, audits and measurable performance outcomes.

About You

You'll be an experienced healthcare or social care leader with a successful track record of delivering improvement in regulated services.

Essential:

  • Level 5 qualification in Health & Social Care, Nursing or Management.
  • Proven experience leading service turnaround and improvement programmes.
  • Experience improving CQC-rated services, ideally from RI/Inadequate to Good.
  • Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, governance and quality frameworks.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams within complex care, rehabilitation, ABI, neurological or stroke services.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, change leadership and decision-making skills.
