Remedy Tutors are looking for experienced, qualified and passionate Teachers and Tutors to support children and young people with SEND across Croydon and the surrounding areas.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an education professional who enjoys working on a 1:1 basis, building positive relationships with learners and adapting their teaching to make education accessible, engaging and meaningful.

Our learners have a wide range of individual needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, behavioural needs, ODD, dyslexia and associated learning difficulties. Each placement is different, and you'll have the opportunity to use your teaching experience creatively to develop bespoke learning programmes that are right for the individual learner.

As a Remedy SEN Teacher/Tutor, you will:

• Deliver high-quality 1:1 tuition and specialist interventions tailored to the learner's individual needs.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
• Assess learning needs and adapt your teaching, resources and approach accordingly.
• Support learners to re-engage with education and develop confidence in their abilities.
• Deliver appropriate elements of the National Curriculum at primary, secondary or post-16 level.
• Support learners with SEND, SEMH and barriers to engagement or learning.
• Set appropriate learning goals and monitor progress.
• Work collaboratively with parents/carers and other professionals where appropriate.
• Create a calm, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
• Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and positive outcomes throughout your work.

Our tuition placements can involve supporting learners with a range of needs, including:

• Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
• ADHD
• SEMH
• ODD and behavioural needs
• Dyslexia and specific learning difficulties
• Anxiety and barriers to education
• Learners requiring specialist 1:1 intervention
• Children and young people who are unable to access mainstream education

You don't need to have experience of every area listed above. We're interested in your overall SEND experience, your ability to adapt and, most importantly, your commitment to helping learners progress.

We have a variety of tuition opportunities available across Croydon, with sessions taking place at different times throughout the day - from early mornings and daytime sessions through to late afternoons and evenings.

This makes the role particularly well suited to experienced teachers and tutors looking for flexible additional work, as well as education professionals seeking a more personalised teaching environment.

Placements can vary in hours and duration, with opportunities available depending on your experience, availability and the needs of our learners.

We're looking for teachers and tutors who are:

• Qualified and experienced education professionals.
• Passionate about supporting children and young people with SEND.
• Confident delivering 1:1 tuition.
• Patient, empathetic and adaptable in their teaching approach.
• Able to build strong relationships with learners and their families.
• Confident adapting curriculum content and teaching strategies.
• Reliable, professional and committed to safeguarding.
• Comfortable working independently while maintaining strong communication with Remedy and other professionals.

• At least 2 years' teaching or tutoring experience in the UK.
• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND, ideally including 1:1 tuition.
• Current knowledge of the UK National Curriculum at primary, secondary and/or post-16 level.
• A UK-recognised teaching qualification such as QTS, PGCE, DET or an equivalent recognised qualification.
• Overseas-trained teachers should have the appropriate UK ENIC/NARIC assessment where applicable.
• An Enhanced DBS is required. If you don't currently have one, Remedy can support you with the application process.
