UK Payroll Administrator – 6-Month FTC

Salary: £40,000£45,000 + 10% bonus
Location: Holborn, London
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 days per week in the office
Contract: 6-Month FTC
Payroll Size: Approx. 600 UK employees

This is a fast-moving opportunity for an experienced UK Payroll Administrator to join an international business and take ownership of the day-to-day UK payroll process. You'll report into the Global Payroll Manager and work closely with HR, Finance and external payroll providers.

They're looking for someone with strong UK payroll knowledge who can hit the ground running, work accurately to tight deadlines and confidently handle payroll queries and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the end-to-end monthly UK payroll for around 600 employees.
  • Process and validate starters, leavers, salary changes, variable pay, deductions, benefits and absence adjustments.
  • Complete payroll checks, reconciliations and exception reporting.
  • Handle UK statutory requirements including PAYE, NI, SSP, SMP/SPP/SAP and student loans.
  • Support pensions and benefits administration.
  • Manage employee payroll queries and liaise with HR, Finance and external providers.
  • Maintain payroll records, SOPs, payroll calendars and process documentation.
  • Support year-end activities including P60s and P11D-related work.
  • Assist with reporting, controls and ongoing payroll process improvements.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Strong UK payroll experience – this is the key requirement.
  • Comfortable working across a 600-person payroll.
  • Good understanding of UK payroll legislation, pensions and statutory payments.
  • Strong Excel skills and confident working with large amounts of payroll data.
  • Workday experience is preferred, particularly on the HR side, but isn't essential.
  • Cintra experience would be useful but isn't essential.
  • Someone who can work independently, manage deadlines and hit the ground running.
