Are you a recent university graduate looking to gain valuable classroom experience before pursuing a career in teaching?

Vision for Education is recruiting enthusiastic and confident University Graduates to train as Cover Supervisors and work across a range of secondary schools in Stoke-on-Trent and the surrounding areas. No previous classroom experience is required – we provide comprehensive in-house training at our Lichfield office to equip you with the skills and confidence to succeed.

About the role

As a Graduate Cover Supervisor, you will supervise whole classes during teacher absences, delivering pre-set work across a range of subjects to students in Key Stages 3 and 4.

This is an excellent opportunity for graduates considering a career in education, teaching, or youth work. You'll gain invaluable classroom experience while enjoying flexible work that fits around your schedule.

Following successful completion of our in-house Cover Supervisor training, you will be ready to work in a variety of secondary schools across Stoke-on-Trent.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons across a range of secondary subjects
  • Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment
  • Ensure students remain engaged and complete the work set
  • Build positive relationships with students and school staff
  • Adapt confidently to different school environments
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff following lessons
  • Follow safeguarding policies and school procedures at all times
About the school

You will work across a range of welcoming secondary schools in Stoke-on-Trent, including academies, community schools, and multi-academy trusts.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will:

  • Hold a degree (or be due to graduate soon)
  • Have a passion for working with young people
  • Be confident leading groups and communicating effectively
  • Be reliable, professional, and enthusiastic
  • Be adaptable and willing to work across different schools
  • Have, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS and suitable references

No previous classroom experience is necessary as full training will be provided.

In-House Cover Supervisor Training

Before you begin working in schools, you'll attend our free Cover Supervisor Training Programme at our Lichfield office.
