About the Role

A welcoming secondary school in Braintree is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September. This is a full-time, permanent position, working closely with teaching staff to support students across a range of abilities.

The successful candidate will play a key role in helping students access the curriculum, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide in-class support to students across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Work 1:1 and with small groups, including students with SEN
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
  • Support students with additional learning needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH)
  • Help manage behaviour positively and effectively
  • Encourage student independence and confidence
  • Support with preparation of resources and classroom organisation
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Previous experience working with young people (school-based or similar)
  • A strong interest in education and supporting student development
  • A patient, proactive, and flexible approach
  • Good communication and relationship-building skills
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • Experience supporting SEN students (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
