Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a welcoming secondary school in Daventry that is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Unqualified Teacher to join their team from September 2026.

This position would suit graduates, Cover Supervisors, Teaching Assistants, tutors, sports coaches, mentors, youth workers, or aspiring teachers who are keen to develop their classroom skills and explore a future career in teaching.
You will work alongside experienced teachers and school leaders, gaining practical experience in lesson delivery, classroom management, student engagement, and supporting pupil progress.
The Role
- Deliver pre-planned lessons across KS3 and KS4 using school and departmental resources.
- Lead whole-class learning when covering for the usual classroom teacher.
- Create a calm, structured, and positive classroom environment.
- Set clear expectations and manage behaviour consistently.
- Encourage students to remain focused, motivated, and actively involved in their learning.
- Provide appropriate support and encouragement to help students make progress.
- Build positive relationships with pupils and work effectively with teaching and support staff.
- Support the wider school community through enrichment, interventions, and school activities where appropriate.
- Take part in relevant training and professional development opportunities.
About You
- Experience working with young people through education, tutoring, coaching, mentoring, youth work, or a similar environment.
- Confident communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
- Comfortable leading groups and taking responsibility for a classroom.
- A calm, professional, and adaptable approach.
- Strong organisation, reliability, and resilience.
- The ability to manage behaviour and maintain a purposeful learning environment.
- A genuine interest in education and a desire to support young people to succeed.
- An ambition to develop a long-term career within teaching or education.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
