Do you want to work in a state-of-the-art facility producing work for some of the biggest names in London? If so a major fit out company based in Basildon are looking to recruit an Upholster to join their Upholstery team working on projects for some of their most prestigious clients. If you have proven upholstery experience with a knowledge of both modern and traditional upholstery techniques, then we want to hear from you.

Duties:

• Strip and prepare furniture for reupholstery and upholstery
• Measure, template and cut fabrics and leather hides
• Shape foam and prepare frames using springs, webbing and upholstery materials
• Apply buttons, piping, facings, decorative studs and other finishing details
• Read and work from production drawings and specifications
• Maintain exceptional quality standards throughout the manufacturing process
• Report any design or production issues and assist with continuous improvement
• Support colleagues within the upholstery department and undertake occasional site installations when required

Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience as an Upholsterer or Reupholsterer
• Qualified in Modern & Traditional Upholstery (City & Guilds or equivalent preferred)
• Skilled working with a wide range of fabrics and leather
• Able to read technical and production drawings
• Excellent attention to detail and quality-focused
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Cutting and sewing experience would be an advantage
• Flexible team player with a positive attitude

• £18.80 per hour
• Hours 8.00am to 5pm Monday to Friday + Overtime
• 25 days holiday plus bank holiday (3 to be used for Christmas shutdown)
