Are you a self-motivated, quality-driven Utility Mapping Surveyor looking to secure long-term progression within a Tier 1 Specialist Consultancy?

A Leading Specialist is expanding its regional footprint and seeking an experienced Utility Mapping Surveyor to support major engineering and civil schemes across Warrington and the wider North West. This is a pivotal role offering the chance to deploy advanced high-density radar systems and establish high-accuracy subsurface mapping for multidisciplinary clients.

The Opportunity:

You will play a vital role in executing accurate utility tracing, data processing, and site risk mitigation. Your day-to-day remit involves:

  • Conducting rigorous underground utility investigations using modern EML and GPR equipment adhering strictly to PAS 128 standards.

  • Executing topographical utility pickups using Total Stations and GNSS equipment to connect subsurface marks to national/project grid coordinates.

  • Processing raw detection datasets and compiling verified subsurface utility layout drawings utilizing AutoCAD.

  • Producing thorough technical documentation, including PAS 128 utility survey reports, chamber inspection records, and site-specific permits to dig.

  • Acting as a technical point of contact on site, providing clear technical advice and ensuring project milestones are met safely and efficiently.

Technical Essentials:

To be successful, you must demonstrate high-level technical proficiency:

  • Mandatory: 2–3+ years’ direct site experience in utility mapping with verified competence working to PAS 128 survey types (M1P–M4P).

  • Compliance/Systems: Demonstrated proficiency in EML operation, multi-channel or high-density array GPR (such as Stream C), Total Stations, GNSS instruments, and AutoCAD drafting. GPR post-processing and CCTV drainage survey experience advantageous.

  • Experience: Comprehensive field-to-finish project delivery, sound understanding of land survey fundamentals, and experience issuing formal utility survey reports and permits to dig.

  • Mobility: Full clean UK driving licence. Willingness to accommodate variable shift rosters (including night shifts) and occasional lodging away as operational requirements dictate.

The Package:

  • Base salary of £35,000 – £45,000 per annum, enhanced by paid overtime and travel allowance.

  • Dedicated company vehicle, company laptop, and corporate smartphone.

  • 24 days paid holiday plus bank holidays.

  • Contributory company pension scheme, MediCash healthcare cover, and Employee Benefits Scheme.

  • Comprehensive structured training pipeline including NVQ qualifications, CSCS, NRSWA, First Aid, and specialist radar analysis modules.
