A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a well-established and highly regarded surveying company known for delivering accurate and reliable surveying solutions across a wide range of construction and infrastructure projects. The company prides itself on maintaining high technical standards, utilising the latest surveying equipment and digital workflows to produce precise, high-quality survey data and drawings. Operating across multiple sectors throughout the UK, the company continues to grow and is now looking to strengthen its utility mapping team by bringing on a experienced utility surveyor to be based at their offices in Welwyn Garden city, Hertfordshire.

The Utility Surveyor will take ownership of site-based data capture using EML and GPR equipment, ensuring accurate underground utility detection, site marking, and the production of high-quality deliverables in AutoCAD and other industry-standard formats, operating on a remote basis.

Responsibility & Duties

• Carry out PAS128 utility surveys to industry standards on site
• Operate GPR equipment, CAT & Genny, and electromagnetic locators
• Produce accurate utility drawings in AutoCAD from field data
• Conduct CCTV drainage surveys and utility clearance investigations
• Liaise with clients professionally on site and manage expectations
• Complete accurate field notes, logs, and daily survey records
• Adhere to all health, safety, and traffic management requirements

Experience & Qualification

• Proven experience as a Utility Surveyor in a field-based role
• Competent with CAT & Genny, GPR systems, and EM locating tools
• PAS128 knowledge and understanding of utility survey standards
• Proficient in AutoCAD for producing utility mapping outputs
• Experience with CCTV drainage survey equipment advantageous
• Strong communication skills and professional client-facing manner
• Full UK driving licence required for site travel across the UK
