Duties of the Vehicle Damage Assessor:
  • Conduct damage assessments and prepare precise repair estimates
  • Liaise effectively with insurance companies to secure repair authorisation
  • Carry out repairs on a variety of vehicle marques, adhering to manufacturer standards
  • Complete vehicle repairs independently from start to finish with high quality standards
  • Maintain detailed records of estimates, repair progress, and parts utilised
  • Collaborate with workshop colleagues and other departments to ensure efficient vehicle turnaround
  • Stay updated with latest repair techniques, manufacturer guidelines, and insurer policies
Requirements of the Vehicle Damage Assessor:
  • Proven experience as a Vehicle Damage Assessor or Estimator in a busy workshop environment
  • NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or ATA / IMI qualifications preferred but not essential
  • Good knowledge of repair methods, including panel repairs, welding, and jig work
  • Ability to work independently, ensuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Strong team player with a commitment to customer service and safety standards
