We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a reputable franchise-approved car dealer in Treforest, Rhondda Cynon Taf, seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician to join their busy Service Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to develop their career as a Vehicle Technician within a well-established multi-franchise dealer group operating in South Wales for over 40 years.

  • 22 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays, increasing to 25 days after 3 years

  • 40-hour week on a 4-day rota, with a long weekend every week (Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday, 7:00am-6:00pm)
Duties of a Vehicle Technician:
  • Conduct fault diagnosis, including large engine-based work
  • Carry out routine servicing and repairs efficiently and accurately
  • Identify vehicle faults and report findings to the Workshop Controller
  • Ensure compliance with quality, health & safety, and manufacturer procedures
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship within a busy environment
  • Support team objectives and work towards set targets
  • Utilise diagnostic tools and techniques; an active MOT license is advantageous
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines
Requirements of a Vehicle Technician:
  • Qualified to IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
  • Minimum of 3 years’ practical experience post-qualification
  • Ideally qualified at Diagnostic or Master Technician level
  • Hold a valid UK driving licence
  • Ability to produce high-quality work under pressure
  • Strong team player with attention to detail
  • Motivated individual committed to ongoing professional development
  • Residents within a reasonable commuting distance of Treforest/Rhondda Cynon Taf
