We are recruiting for a Vehicle Technician on behalf of our client, a reputable independent garage located in Southampton. This opportunity is ideal for experienced technicians seeking a well-established environment with modern facilities and excellent career prospects. The Vehicle Technician role offers a balanced work-life schedule in a friendly, professional team committed to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.

  • Competitive salary of up to £38,000, with an OTE of approximately £41,000

Duties of a Vehicle Technician:
  • Servicing and repairing a variety of vehicle makes and models efficiently and accurately
  • Conducting vehicle diagnostics and repairs as necessary
  • Clearly communicating test results and additional work requirements to the service reception team
  • Maintaining technical knowledge and keeping up-to-date with industry regulations
  • Ensuring all work complies with health and safety standards and workshop policies
  • Performing quality inspections to ensure high standards of workmanship
  • Assisting with workshop organisation and cleanliness
Requirements of a Vehicle Technician:
  • Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician in a similar environment
  • Valid full driving licence
  • Good understanding of vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and servicing procedures
  • Desirable but not essential: MOT testing certification
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
