Vehicle technician in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk

We are a fast fit service and Mot Centre in Bury St Edmunds and are looking to add an additional Vehicle Technician to our team.

For the right candidate we can offer a Monday - Friday role but would appreciate the new Vehicle Technician coming in some Saturday mornings to share the work with the existing team, the Saturdays will be payable as overtime.

Basic salary between £36,000 - £38,000 plus bonus with an Ote of up to £45,000

What are we looking for in a Vehicle Technician

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Mechanic / Fast Fit Technician to join our team. In this role the vehicle technician will be responsible for delivering high-quality vehicle maintenance and repair services, ensuring customer safety and satisfaction. Your expertise will help keep vehicles running smoothly and efficiently, contributing to a positive customer experience. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about automotive mechanics and eager to develop their skills in a fast-paced environment.

You will need certification in light vehicle repair level 2 and above, Imi. Nvq, City and guilds or time served.You will also need a full Uk driving licence and your own tools 

Duties to perform

Routine vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and repairs using mechanical knowledge to identify issues accurately.

Use hand tools and power tools to carry out repairs and maintenance tasks efficiently.

Maintain detailed records of work performed on job cars, including parts used and repair procedures followed.

Assist our workshop controller to identify clear explanations of repair work.

Experience required

Proven experience working with vehicle systems, including mechanical repairs and maintenance.

Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and assembly processes.

Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle components such as engines, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems.

Prior experience in equipment repair or maintenance is advantageous but if you don't know all the jobs we will train the right candidate who shows a great work mindset.

You will need to have the right to work in the Uk as there is No possibility of a work sponsorship for this role.
