Location: Salisbury
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £36,000 basic, OTE up to £40,000 (dependent on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00-17:30 (30-minute unpaid lunch break and 2 x 15-minute unpaid tea breaks).
42.5 hours per week. Saturday morning working on a rota basis will also be required.
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Vehicle Technician to join a successful automotive team in Salisbury.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of service, maintenance, diagnostic, and repair work to the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
You will be working across the full vehicle range, ensuring all repairs are completed accurately, safely, and in line with manufacturer standards. The ideal candidate will have previous dealership experience and a strong technical background.
Key Responsibilities of the Vehicle Technician:
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repair tasks across the full model range as instructed.
- Complete all work to the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
- Diagnose and repair vehicle faults using the latest diagnostic technology and equipment.
- Carry out visual inspections, adjustments, fluid changes, and replacement of worn components.
- Perform complex repairs including engine, transmission, electrical, and vehicle system diagnostics.
- Complete complex disassembly and assembly procedures where required.
- Install additional components and systems following manufacturer guidelines.
- Carry out final inspections and function tests on completed repairs.
- Use diagnostic systems to complete updates, software transfers, and vehicle parameterisation.
- Support and guide other technicians when carrying out complex repairs.
- Ensure all work is documented correctly, including warranty processes and required compliance records.
- Maintain excellent standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Skills, experience & Qualifications required for the Vehicle Technician:
- Level 3 Certification in Automotive Vehicle Servicing & Repair or equivalent.
- Previous experience working as a Vehicle Technician within an automotive retailer or main dealer environment.
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a qualified Vehicle Technician.
- Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex faults.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Full UK driving licence required.
