Waking Night Support Worker – Residential Care – Vale Of Glamorgan

This is a rewarding role for individuals with experience in residential childcare or social care environments, committed to providing overnight support to children and young people.
As a Waking Night Support Worker in the Vale of Glamorgan, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and emotional support of residents aged 11-18 during the night. You will work to maintain a calm, secure environment, supporting with personal care and emotional needs as required, and keeping detailed records of overnight activities and incidents.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide overnight supervision and support to children and young people in a residential setting
Ensure safety and promote wellbeing during night hours
Support with personal care and emotional needs as needed
Maintain accurate logs of activities and incidents during the night shift
Foster a nurturing and positive environment for residents
Collaborate with team members to deliver consistent, high-quality care

Candidate Requirements:

Experience working with young people or within a social care environment
Valid UK driver’s licence
Over the age of 21
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexibility to cover overnight shifts from 8:30pm to 8:30am, 35 hours per week
