About the Child: Lily, 5, is a determined and affectionate little girl with a great sense of humour. She loves cuddles, bubbles, swimming, bathtime, switch toys and interaction with the people around her. Lily communicates through Eye Gaze, vocalisations, facial expressions and body language. She has cerebral palsy with dystonia, epilepsy, PEG feeding requirements, respiratory vulnerabilities, and visual and hearing impairments.

The Role at a Glance: This waking night role focuses on ensuring Lily remains safe, comfortable and well-supported overnight. Duties include close observation, repositioning, respiratory support, PEG feeds and medication administration as required. You’ll work closely with Lily’s parents and wider support team, following clear care plans and routines while remaining calm and attentive throughout the night. You’ll monitor Lily via an iPad monitor. The role will start in August as the family will be travelling for Lily’s therapy, but interviews and shadow shifts will be conducted in June and July. We are also recruiting for daytime support workers to join Lily’s wider care team.

This Job Would Suit: A Waking Night carer who is calm, attentive, proactive and compassionate, with the ability to remain observant and responsive during waking nights. You’ll enjoy working closely with families, be eager to learn and motivated to provide high-quality care within a warm family home.

Why You’ll Love This Role: This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact within a warm, welcoming and family-orientated home where support workers are genuinely valued and treated as part of the wider family — including a well-stocked staff snack cupboard! You’ll receive specialist training in areas such as respiratory physio, postural management and communication support, with excellent opportunities to develop your paediatric complex care experience. There may also be opportunities to accompany the family on trips abroad for Lily’s therapy, adding variety and unique experiences to the role.
