Inbound Department Manager required for a fast paced warehouse 

We are looking for an experienced Inbound Department Manager to lead the inbound operation at a faced paced Distribution Centre in Snetterton. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident people manager who thrives in a fast-paced warehouse environment and is passionate about delivering safe, accurate and efficient stock handling.

Reporting to the Distribution Centre Manager, you will take ownership of day-to-day inbound activities, from unloading and receiving through to processing and put-away. You will lead and develop a small team, improve performance and help ensure stock reaches our stores on time.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Plan workflows and staffing to meet operational needs, delivery schedules and store service targets.
  • Use the computerised stock system to support accurate stock selection and strong put-away performance.
  • Monitor departmental KPIs, coach colleagues and address underperformance through clear objectives and structured performance management.
  • Coordinate with courier partners, internal departments, and the Outbound team to maintain an effective flow of stock.
  • Oversee yard operations, recycling activity and bulk deliveries while maintaining a clean, safe and organised environment.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that increase productivity, reduce costs and improve service to stores.
  • Take responsibility for health and safety compliance, training, documentation, incident reporting and investigations within the department.
  • Support the Distribution Centre Manager with strategic initiatives and provide cover when required.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven supervisory or management experience in warehousing, logistics or another fast-paced operational environment.
  • A strong, visible leadership style with the ability to motivate, coach and develop a team.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and planning skills.
  • A proactive, results-driven approach and the ability to prioritise under pressure.
  • Sound numeracy, literacy and IT skills, including experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and a commitment to high service standards.
  • Forklift licence or relevant FLT experience.
  • NVQ or equivalent qualification in warehousing, logistics or management.

Working hours are based on a 40hr week Mon – Fri 7:30 – 16:00, occasional weekends maybe required at peak trading times
