Salary: £45,000 + Bonus (typically £10,000+)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Warehouse Manager to join an established and successful business operating within the metals industry.
This is a hands-on management position, suited to someone who has a strong understanding of warehouse operations and is comfortable working in a busy, industrial environment. Experience within steel, metals or metal manufacturing would be highly advantageous.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the warehouse, ensuring materials are stored, handled and dispatched efficiently while maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy and organisation.
The Role
As Warehouse Manager, you will oversee the warehouse operation and lead the team to ensure the smooth movement and management of stock and materials.
Key responsibilities will include:
Managing the day-to-day warehouse operation.
Leading, supporting and motivating the warehouse team.
Ensuring materials and stock are correctly received, stored, handled and dispatched.
Maintaining accurate stock levels and ensuring inventory records are kept up to date.
Coordinating incoming and outgoing deliveries.
Ensuring warehouse processes are efficient and consistently followed.
Taking a hands-on approach to warehouse operations and supporting the team where required.
Ensuring materials are handled safely and efficiently.
Monitoring stock movements and investigating discrepancies.
Working closely with production, sales, transport and other internal departments.
Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
Ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed.
Identifying opportunities to improve warehouse processes, productivity and efficiency.
Managing day-to-day issues and resolving operational problems effectively.
About You
We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager or Warehouse Team Leader who is confident managing people while also being prepared to get involved in the operation.
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience managing or supervising a warehouse operation.
A hands-on and practical approach to warehouse management.
Experience working within a steel, metals, manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong leadership and people-management skills.
Good organisational and planning abilities.
Experience managing stock and warehouse processes.
The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and a focus on accuracy.
Good communication skills.
A strong understanding of health and safety within a warehouse or industrial environment.
Experience working with steel, aluminium, stainless steel or other metal products would be particularly beneficial.
Candidates from a metal manufacturing or processing environment who have experience handling and moving industrial materials will also be considered.
