Location: Sunderland
Salary: £42,000 to £50,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee day to day operations at our major 100,000 square foot facility in Sunderland.
As Warehouse Manager, you will take full operational responsibility for the site, leading warehouse teams, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring key customer key performance indicators are met. You will maintain strict health, safety, and compliance standards while optimizing operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and manage site supervisors, team leaders, and warehouse operatives to ensure daily targets are met efficiently.

Manage end to end warehouse activities including goods in, racking allocation, pick and pack, cross docking, and outbound distribution.

Maintain strict inventory control, stock accuracy, and complete visibility through the Warehouse Management System.

Work closely with the regional transport team to align warehouse activity with vehicle loading schedules and delivery routes.

Enforce rigorous Health and Safety, quality, and environmental compliance across the site.

Manage workforce planning, labour shift patterns, and resources to adapt smoothly to peak demand periods.

Track and report operational performance, stock turnover, and operational costs against core targets.

Act as the senior operational point of contact for key client accounts operating out of the Sunderland facility.
Essential Requirements

Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager or Senior Operations Manager within a busy, fast paced 3PL, contract logistics, or distribution environment.

Strong working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems and inventory control methods.

Solid understanding of health and safety legislation, risk assessments, and warehouse compliance.

Excellent team management and leadership skills, with a track record of building team morale and performance.

Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, resources, and customer expectations.

Strong problem solving skills and the ability to organize complex workloads.
