Warehouse Operative in Poynton

Location: Poynton, Stockport

Salary: £13.64 – £14.12 per hour DOE

Hours: Monday – Friday, 2pm – 10pm / Full-time, Permanent

We are recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Operative to join a well-established steel processing and distribution company based in Poynton, Stockport.

This role would suit someone with previous experience in steel, metals, engineering or heavy manufacturing, who is confident handling industrial materials and working in a busy warehouse environment.

• Loading, unloading and moving steel and metal products.

• Operating overhead gantry cranes and lifting equipment.

• Operating Side Loaders and Combi Lifts where trained.

• Picking and preparing materials for dispatch.

• Completing stock checks, quality inspections and paperwork.

• Ensuring all work is carried out safely and efficiently.

• Previous experience within steel, metals or manufacturing.

• Experience operating overhead cranes or forklifts is advantageous.

• Confident handling heavy and oversized materials.

• Good understanding of health and safety procedures.

• Reliable, hardworking and able to work as part of a team.

• £13.64 – £14.12 per hour DOE.

• Fixed afternoon shift, Monday to Friday.

• Training on specialist machinery and equipment.
