Warehouse Operative

Hales Group are recruiting for a Warehouse Operative to join a busy and growing warehouse operation in Beccles.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys being active throughout the day and has previous warehouse experience. You'll be involved in all aspects of warehouse operations, including unloading containers, manual handling, Goods In, stock control, picking, packing and dispatch, while also providing day-to-day support to colleagues and helping ensure the warehouse runs smoothly.
The role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Warehouse Operative who is ready to take on additional responsibility and develop their leadership skills.
What You'll Be Doing
- Unloading containers and deliveries safely and efficiently
- Carrying out manual handling duties and moving stock throughout the warehouse
- Checking incoming goods against delivery notes and purchase orders
- Reporting and investigating stock discrepancies, shortages or damaged goods
- Putting stock away accurately and maintaining warehouse organisation
- Picking, packing and preparing orders for dispatch
- Loading vehicles and ensuring orders are shipped accurately and on time
- Using handheld scanners and warehouse systems to maintain stock accuracy
- Supporting stock counts and inventory control activities
- Assisting with the coordination of Goods In and Dispatch activities
- Supporting and guiding colleagues on shift, leading by example on the warehouse floor
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, safety and operational efficiency
- Previous experience working within a warehouse, logistics or distribution environment
- Experience with container unloading, manual handling and stock movement
- Good understanding of Goods In, dispatch and stock control processes
- Physically fit and comfortable working in a demanding, hands-on environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- A reliable and proactive approach to work
- Good communication skills and the confidence to support colleagues when required
- Forklift licences (Counterbalance, Reach, PPT or VNA) would be advantageous but are not essential
- Primarily a warehouse-based role with opportunities to take on additional responsibility

Hours: Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours per week
Pay: £14.06 per hour
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
