Warehouse Operative
Introduction
We are currently looking for a reliable and organised Warehouse Operative to support the efficient receipt, storage, control, and dispatch of materials and finished goods for a leading manufacturing company based in Ringwood on a permanent basis.
The role plays an important part in maintaining accurate stock levels, supporting production and assembly activities, and ensuring the warehouse remains safe, clean, organised, and efficient. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across the warehouse, production, and logistics functions to ensure materials and finished goods are available when required.
Main Responsibilities
- Receive deliveries and check goods against delivery notes and purchase orders.
- Inspect incoming materials for damage, shortages, or discrepancies and report any issues.
- Accurately record and book stock into the ERP system.
- Label and store materials in their designated locations.
- Maintain accurate stock records and inventory levels.
- Carry out regular stock counts and cycle counts.
- Identify and report stock shortages, discrepancies, or damaged goods.
- Pick and issue components and materials to production and assembly teams and prepare kits and materials for production orders
- Safely load and unload vehicles.
- Local deliveries (small part of this role) Clean drivers license required
Ideal Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a warehouse, stores, logistics, or similar environment, and of picking components
- Experience of using a forklift truck (license not required as training given)
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Basic computer literacy and confidence using digital systems.
- Experience with stock control and inventory management processes.
- Good communication skills and a flexible approach to work.
- Capable of safely lifting and moving materials.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Desirable
- Current Forklift Truck (FLT) licence.
- Experience using ERP or MRP systems.
- Knowledge of warehouse management, stock control, and inventory processes.
Salary
£28,500
Hours
Monday to Friday (Flexi Time)
