The Role
As a Warehouse Operative, you'll play a vital role in ensuring valuable consignments are received, processed, stored and dispatched safely and efficiently. Working within a highly secure warehouse environment, you'll follow strict operational procedures to maintain the highest standards of quality, accuracy and customer service.
No two days are the same, and you'll work closely with colleagues across the operation to ensure every shipment is handled with care from arrival through to dispatch.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect and process inbound and outbound shipments accurately.
- Safely load and unload vehicles while ensuring all high-value goods are handled with exceptional care.
- Prepare, pack and dispatch consignments in accordance with company procedures.
- Complete and maintain accurate warehouse records, shipment logs and supporting documentation.
- Upload Proof of Delivery (PODs), tripart documentation and other operational paperwork.
- Ensure all security, quality and compliance procedures are followed at all times.
- Work to daily operational deadlines while maintaining exceptional levels of accuracy.
- Liaise with internal departments to resolve any operational queries quickly and professionally.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Deliver excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Previous warehouse, logistics or distribution experience is desirable.
- A full, clean UK driving licence.
- A professional and reliable approach to work.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a close-knit team.
- Flexible attitude towards working hours, with occasional overtime or weekend work when required.
- Excellent timekeeping and a positive, proactive attitude.
- An X-Ray Screening Licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Successful applicants must be able to pass a DBS check and have no unspent criminal convictions or driving disqualifications.
