Wage: £14.40 per hour

Full-time | 40 hours per week

About the role

Prime Recruitment Services is seeking a reliable and hardworking Warehouse / Transport Operator on behalf of our client, a well-established business within the animal feed industry, known for supplying quality products to a large customer base.

Based at a modern mill in the countryside near Slemish, this is an excellent opportunity for a practical, customer-focused individual to join a busy operation and play an important role in the day-to-day running of the warehouse and transport functions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the warehouse and yard areas in a clean, tidy and organised condition, assisting maintenance staff when required.
• Provide excellent customer service, including loading pallets and tote bags for customers.
• Operate a semi-automated bagging line and fill tote bags safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload curtain-sided vehicles using a counterbalance forklift.
• Load bulk vehicles in line with operational requirements.
• Clean bulk vehicles and trailers to maintain appropriate standards.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and contribute to an efficient, well-organised working environment.

Working hours

• Full-time position, working 40 hours per week.
• Monday to Friday on a rotating three-week shift pattern:
• Week 1: 06:00-15:00
• Week 2: 08:00-17:00
• Week 3: 10:00-19:00
• Occasional overtime may be required during busy periods and holiday cover.

Essential requirements

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous manual handling experience and training.
• Experience operating a counterbalance forklift, with a current licence.
• A good standard of general education, including GCSE Maths and English (Grade C or equivalent, or above).
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a responsible approach to work.
• Basic computer literacy.

Desirable: Experience using computer terminal-controlled equipment.
